Workshop #9
Sensory Grounding Method
Presence & calm
This workshop is unique because it will be taught outside. It dives into a common method to deal with anxiety or panic attacks — the grounding method. This involves making a mental list of items from the surrounding environment using one's five senses in order to feel centered and calm. The planned activity takes this further by having students illustrate what they can sense to be truly present in the moment. Students will also learn the box breathing method as a supplementary technique.
Peaceful HeArtâ„¢ pairs creative activity with a lesson intended to encourage reflection, connection, expression, or self-care.
